Re-envisioning the Future of Oral Care for Baby Boomers
Tasked with envisioning the future of oral care for the Baby Boomer Generation, a collection of designers, engineers, and marketing students came together under the guidance of one of the top companies in the world, P&G. A fully immersive experience, this project used in depth market analysis to identify key opportunity gaps in order to develop new products and services. Working in tandem with our consumer test market, the studio was able to receive constant feedback and develop solutions that were functional, practical, and innovative.
Working P&G and it's oral care product development team, groups of designers, marketers, and engineers worked together to determine the future of oral care for the Baby Boomer generation.

Working alongside target market visitors, teams were able to learn first hand the wants, needs, and desires of Baby Boomers. As well as using the resources of P&G to gain an understanding of the history of oral care throughout the years.

As part of the research portion of the studio, my team was assigned to interview four members of the UC Dentistry School. Valuable insight was able to be gained as the professors' passion and expertise was easily seen and heard in their interviews.

In a research presentation, a key insight that was gained was the need to connect sooner with patients. An infographic was developed comparing the dentist with other health care professionals in order to understand the various touch-points and the need to connect sooner with individual's dentists.

Each team was assigned to conduct in-home interviews with target market participants as a method of understanding their choices, habits, and surrounding influences.

Amongst research and concept development, the studio participated in an aging simulation as a method of walking in another person's shoes.

Careful not to go too far with concepts, teams were able to receive constant feedback from target market visitors in order to develop focused and highly acceptable solutions.

Rounds and rounds of sketches and iterations were conducted with various concepts being developed and dropped throughout the process.
